Top Ten Reasons I Write

  1. It’s taken me at least an hour to fall asleep since I was a child.  If I’m going to have some form of chronic insomnia it might as well be useful.
  2. Plots pop into my head when I wake up in the morning, what else am I supposed to do with them?
  3. I’ve had a semi crazy life.  Since no one will believe me when I tell the truth, I might as well pretend I made it all up.
  4. Who wouldn’t want to  rewrite those moments where you opened your mouth and inserted your foot so that they never happened?
  5. I can live a much cooler life on paper than I do in reality.  Space travel anyone?
  6. Because nothing bad ever happens in fiction unless I want it to.  Revenge, moah ha ha!!
  7. I’m a control freak so of course I would want to invent my own world.
  8. When I have trouble finding a hero, I can always invent one.
  9. I get to use a lot of big words and pretend I’m smart.
  10. Few things in life give me this much joy.
